Sitemap Issue

After trying the norm of Wordpress sitemap plugins from Arne Brachhold which many are using, I found it to be quite nice.  This was until I realized that each of my pages was being mapped and pinged to Google, however, was not being assigned any priority.  I posted a couple times and even emailed Arne, but for some reason, he was not quick to respond.  Not sure what his deal is, so on to another approach at finding something with decent support.

So to make a long story short, I tried another, and another and another.  Finally found one that seemed to work, and a map was being produced and all was well…it seemed…map was being uploaded to Google upon pinging, etc.  The software is fairly complex, but it is one of those learning curve kind of things as it seems.

It was noticed last week that there was some error in the application (perhaps ours).  The new map file does not write for some reason over the old on the file…so end result, we have not had a new sitemap uploaded for several weeks now, although it was thought that this had been occurring. (the same sitemap has been there, so there are alot of urls registered anyways, just none of the new ones).

It will be time to experiment on this weeks run and hopefully there will be some solution that can be applied to generate an updated file.

This is not so simple as the site is quite large at this point, but we are pretty sure that we have the fix at this point…
