New Client Sarasota Welsh Society

A welcome to a new hosting and development client, the St Davids Sarasota Welsh Society, known for the Red Dragon.

Thank you to David Calam who previously hosted the website for helping to get the domain name transferred over to the Society.  He is now very busy with working full time for the Canadian Federal Government for the RCMP and no longer has time to apply to the site.

Also thanks to Don Hughes from Prudential Palms Realty in Sarasota, FL who is an existing client with the new site SiestaSarasota.com.  This has been a redesign of SoftServe’s Tom Ford’s former Siesta Key Real Estate site which has been updated and feature added for re-release.  It is a spin off of the concept used for EquitableSystems.com, which is SoftServe’s Tom Ford’s Sarasota Real Estate Website.  Also thanks to Don for partnering up on some of the real estate leads that come from this website.

In trying to get the society to try Wordpress (as they desire to be able to post info on upcoming events and add pictures/journal about past events, a test has been begun with a basic install of Wordpress with the RSS from the events section being parsed to html and displayed right in the home page (this is great because it will change as the new events are added).  This will work well both for keeping the main portion of the site updated and providing new content in the main page (for the Google search engine).

The society has had a member, Meryl Fell, who is a Trustee, who has also put together quite a nice unofficial website located here.  It will be nice to work with her to accomplish the objectives of the Society, whether this becomes just a simple rehost and Wordpress addition or otherwise…
